Jaden's Surgery

Jaden had surgery on Wednesday to separate his fingers. He had this surgery once before when he was 8 months old. He was born with something called Poland Syndrome, he is missing his left pectoral muscle. As a side effect of this a lot of kids have abnormalities with their hands. Jaden was very fortunate. He has all 5 fingers and knuckles. Some kids don't have any fingers. Anyway, the surgery was to help separate some webbing of his fingers. This should help his hand to be more functional for Jaden. He already uses it like normal but he should be able to manipulate things better with his fingers now. He was really excited to have the surgery to get his hand fixed a little bit. His hand is smaller than his right hand which was not affected. It will never be the same size, but that's okay, it makes Jaden unique. =) Here are some pictures from before and after his surgery. We won't get to see his hand for a month when his soft cast will come off.

For Father's Day, Joe's dad had everyone get together to go swimming. It was really a lot of fun. Here a few pictures.

Stingrays

At The Living Planet Aquarium, they have a stingray petting pond. It is cool you can put your hand in the water and touch the stingrays. Joe & the kids were a little too chicken to touch them, but it was still fun. =)

Sharks

I am a total shark fanatic. I just had to do a separate post of the sharks at The Living Planet Aquarium. =) You may notice my shameless advertisement for Shark Week coming up August 2nd on the Discovery Channel. I just can't help myself.

This Saturday Joe & I took the kids to the local aquarium. They had so much fun. Here are some cute pictures from our visit.

Lucky Number Seven!!!

I can not believe it. My little girl is 7. It is crazy how fast time flies. Joe & I took the kids to Lagoon with Josh, Jessie & Kylee. It was SO much fun. Alexis said it was "my best birthday EVER". I didn't bring my camera to Lagoon because we went on so many water rides and I didn't want the camera to get ruined. Here are some pictures of Lexi with her ice cream cake later that night. Her favorite ride was the Rattlesnake Rapids. We all got pretty soaked on that one. It was funny, we took Jaden & Lexi on the Tidal Wave and it really freaked Lexi out. While Lexi was talking to her daddy after riding it she whispered: "I think my mommy is trying to kill me!" It was kind of funny. I didn't think she would be as afraid as she was from going on the Tidal Wave.

I am living in my parent's basement which my dad remodeled just for us. It is really a lot of fun and so pretty, I love it! Josh and Jessie live in the other basement apartment right next to ours. It is perfect. I took a lot of pictures so I am posting room by room.
